Saviem & Renault ... :?:
Saviem & Renault ... jak to bylo se spojením těhle dvou značek? V "poznej truck" byl saviem a taky s kosočtvercem ve znaku...to je jen náhoda?

Tak když to někdo přeložíte
A major landmark in Renault's history took place in 1955 with the formation of Saviem (Societe Anonyme de Vehicules Industriels et Equipements Mecaniques) by the merger of Renault, Latil, Somua and Floirat. Very soon, the group vehicles were appearing with Saviem and Saviem-Renault badges. Some were also badged Saviem-LRS. The unmistakable underfloor-engined Renaults survived up to the mid 1960s, becoming the Saviem Tancarville TP-10 in 1962, by which time the engine was included in the new Fulgur family and had been bored out to a 6.84 litre/418cu in capacity and developed 150bhp. The TP-lOs had floor-mounted gearshifts.
From 1965 the Renault name disappeared from heavy trucks although it was still used on lighter commercials. However, Renault was to re-emerge as a major truck marque in 1980 after some organizational changes. In 1975 Saviem acquired the Berliet truck business from Citroen, which had owned the company since 1967. Peugeot merged with Citroen in 1974 and disposed of Berliet to Saviem. This meant that Saviem had a new range of heavy trucks in the form of Berliet's TR first introduced in 1972. After Renault Vehicules Industriels (RVI) was established in 1977, the Berliet range was relaunched as the Renault R-series, becoming an important seller in the heavy-duty market. Renault was re-establishing itself on the truck scene and expanding its empire with the acquisition of Chrysler's former truck business in the UK in 1981. This had been owned by Peugeot since 1978. At the same time, RVI acquired Chrysler Espana, builders of Spanish Dodge trucks at the former Barreiros plant. Meanwhile it was acquiring an increasing share in Mack of America.
Trucks built after 1980 (at which time the Saviem name was dropped and Renault reinstated) inherited their cabs from two different sources. One was the Berliet Premier or KB, the other an updated version of the Club cab. The Berliet TR, originally launched in 1972 while the company was under Citroen ownership, became the R-series. Later still, in 1990, it was marketed as the Renault Major. The other cab, which was fitted both to medium and heavy trucks, was a legacy from the Club of Four project. The same basic design was fitted to Volvo's F6 and F7. In Renault's range it appeared on the Midliner medium trucks and on the G-series heavy tractor units. The latter were relaunched in 1991 as the Manager. The following year 6x4 and 8x4 rigids with the cab were named Maxter.
There was an important model launch in 1990, with the announcement of the new Magnum. This is Renault's long-haul flagship with its distinctive high datum, flat-floored cab. It has sufficient headroom for drivers to stand up and move around, making it popular for international transport where space and a comfortable sleeper are important. Power units include the 12 litre/ 732cu in Renault in-line-six with electronic control and power ratings from 390 to 470bhp. There is also the option of a 16.4 litre/1000cu in Mack V8 diesel developing 560bhp. In Australia the Magnum is marketed under the Mack badge, with Cummins Signature 565bhp 15 litre/914cu in diesel engine.
Another Renault launch took place in 1996 when a whole new family of bucks from 17 tonnes gvw up to 44 tonnes gcw was announced. This is the Premium range and features an elegant new cab design. The cab comes in two different heights — a low-profile version for short-haul distribution trucks and a high profile for long-distance operation. Completing the new range are rigid three and four-axled trucks, aimed mainly at the construction market and sold under the Renault Kerax name. The power unit for the Kerax is the Renault 9.8 litre/598cu in 6-cylinder turbo diesel with ratings of 260 to 400bhp. Other current models include the bonneted C range aimed at the worldwide market but mainly sold outside of Europe. They are the modem equivalent of the old Buick-designed TLR model which was marketed as Renault from 1980 onwards. Catering for light to medium-weight operators is the new Midlum range that replaced the Midliner in 2000.

ještě pod RVI spadá španělské DODGE (Chrysler Espaňa ) a Barrieros
